Season 13, Episode 15: Brew Session (Transmogrify) + Flashback (Commune with Spirits)

Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant is a powerful finisher that gives us new incentives to cheat a big threat into play. In Pioneer, the best way to do that has been Transmogrify. This strategy got numerous tools in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, from sagas like The Modern Age that become creatures on the back side, to useful token makers like Careful Cultivation and Kaito Shizuki.
In this episode of Faithless Brewing, we explore two new builds of Transmogrify combo, with a little splash of reanimator. We also check in on several Neon Dynasty cards that are making a big impact: The Wandering Emperor, Fable of the Mirror-Breaker, and Tameshi, Reality Architect (in the Tameshi Bloom combo deck, which has finally notched a pair of 5-0s).
On the Flashback, we report on our findings so far with Commune with Spirits. The dedicated Enchantress strategies have become very powerful and benefit immensely from the consistency boost of Commune. The more ambitious brews, featuring unique enchantment build-arounds like In Search of Greatness, Spirit-Sister’s Call, and Heartless Summoning, are still works in progress. Commune alone can’t overcome all of the weaknesses of these cards, but it’s an important step in the right direction.
